Collaborative Ownership
WCL are currently working with groups of Colleges to develop models of Collaborative Ownership that allow sharing of services between entities to achieve efficiencies and improve effectiveness. This means freeing up resources and senior management time to focus on teaching and learning.
The Collaborative Ownership model allows independent organisations to remain firmly in strategic control of their services, while encouraging more focused service delivery to a wider range of partners resulting in even greater economies of scale.
This work tackles - head-on - the wicked issues of VAT, TUPE, and the cultural challenges of sharing across the sector.
WCL's Managing Director, Kieron White, presented this Collaborative Ownership approach at the Outsourcing and Shared Services Conference in May 2011. Please click here to view or download the slides.
Kieron Also presented the model in a Master Class at the 2010 Association of Colleges (AoC) Annual Conference in November 2010. The session, entitled "Alternative approaches to merger: how innovative collaborative models are benefitting the sector", was a ‘how-to’ guide to achieve up to 25% savings and share functions by reaching wider and deeper than traditional shared services approaches.
