Aiming High for Disabled Children - Delivery Chain Analysis

The Challenge
Aiming High for Disabled Children (AHDC) is a cross-government programme to improve and expand services for disabled children and their families at a local level. WCL are working with the Department for Children Schools and Families and Department of Health to identify ways of optimising the impact of the AHDC programme
| |
The Solution
WCL have initially set out to map the delivery chain of the programme from central government all the way to service users. This will identify the parts of the delivery chain that have the biggest impact on service delivery and need the most support as well as allowing Government to optimise its delivery strategy by identifying how best to lever change.
This will provide opportunity to target support and challenge through knowledge of key processes, identification of key stakeholders and engagement of the people involved. It will also allow for recommendations for the improvement of the processes behind service delivery itself. Addressing workforce strategy is also a key part of this process.

The Results
This exercise will deliver recommendations on areas of development across the full scope of the delivery chain. Potential next steps will address the support needed to make the necessary changes across the delivery chain and its workforce to improve the outcomes to service users that the AHDC programme is targeting.
