DCSF Policy & Performance Division (PPD) were looking for an organisation to supply a team to be deployed on short-term projects as part of a high-quality flexible resource pool within the Department. The role of which is to provide advice and strategic support relating to the development and implementation of a range of strategies across Schools Directorate (SD) and Children Young People and Families Directorate (CYPFD).

The Solution

Through this arrangement, WCL provide call off advice to the Directors General for Schools and CYPF Directorates, their senior managers and policy staff covering:

Strategic business planning (including organisational strategy and structuring;
Programme and project management support involving short to long term planning and risk management for a variety of key policy implementation programmes;
Facilitation of Departmental meetings;
Development of ‘the Bridge’ a unique IT-enabled space for the Schools Director General to inform staff about key policy initiatives, provide the directorate management team with performance monitoring data and allow individual policy teams access to a creative and innovative problem solving environment; and
Acting as a source of independent challenge and support to Schools and CYPF policy staff and programmes.

The Results

This is an ongoing relationship which has produced exceptional results for the client. Success to date include improved project and programme management, strategic decision making and the successful implementation of a range of strategies across Schools Directorate (SD) and Children Young People and Families Directorate (CYPFD).
