Managing change is our business.
Transformational Change Consultants
We provide consultancy advice and hands-on delivery support to complex organisations in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors
Transformation Readiness Assessment
70% of transformations fail, wasting £258bn annually. Our diagnostic shows whether you are in the 70% or the 30% - and what to do about it.
Our ‘organisational biometric’ gives a unique assessment of strengths and identifies practical actions to increase the pace, efficiency and likelihood of transformation and change success.
For 17 years WCL’s consultants have worked alongside our clients to design, manage and deliver major transformation programmes.
We thrive on the most challenging problems.
With over 500 events under our belt, many run as virtual events, we have unrivalled experience. We are experts in working with large audiences, and we know how to get the best out of smaller events, off-sites and workshops - whether in-person or online.

WCL was founded in 2002 as a programme and change management consultancy. The company grew rapidly as clients discovered our fresh approach to working alongside teams, passing on our skills and experience while delivering successful projects.
WCL grew to achieve an annual turnover of over £9m, employing 80 people and being placed 12th in the 2006 Sunday Times FastTrack of the UK’s fastest growing businesses.
In 2019 we consolidated our extensive transformation and change experience in our unique ‘Transformation Readiness Assessment’. Working with a team of business academics to build on international research, our diagnostic identifies and measures the critical elements that are proven to be essential in successful organisation transformations. Having been described as an ‘organisation biometric’, the tool provides a unique assessment of strengths and identifies practical actions to increase the pace, efficiency and likelihood of success.
WCL specialises in change and transformation management and has worked extensively with nearly all UK Government Departments, as well as many private sector clients, on planning and managing complex change programmes.
We thrive on new challenges, never assume we know best, and value humility.
Clients consistently say that working with WCL consultants is “not like working with other consultants.”
We are known for providing practical, actionable recommendations that can be managed through to implementation, rather than providing strategic reports that ignore the essential implementation steps.
WCL consultants are chosen and retained for their skills and experience, but as importantly for their fit with our principles of never assuming we know best, always having respect for our client’ teams, and for our humility.
Clients tell us that our consultants are energising, personable and engaging to work with. I hope we will have the opportunity to show you our difference.
Public Sector Experience
We work alongside civil servants to design and deliver national policy programmes and to manage Government transformation programmes
Their people operate in a way which is highly supportive and are generally very capable and highly responsive, often seeking ways of exceeding the expectations placed on them. One of their most valuable attributes is that they do not just advise – they get involved, working as an integral part of the teams they are supporting.
We would rate their performance as excellent
Senior Civil Servant
The WCL consultants I have worked with have the ability to work at all levels of the organisation, with other government departments, partners and suppliers. Their facilitation skills are excellent and their consultants retain clarity of purpose, the ability to translate policy outcomes and objectives into tangible actions and outputs through focusing on “who needs to do what by when”.
They act as agents of change – focusing on creating a positive mood among the people in the organisation and building the capacity of staff
Director, Civil Service
WCL consultants have provided effective support on the set-up and on-going management of a range of large public sector reform and delivery programmes in a professional, smart and non-bureaucratic manner, which both delivers results and has helped persuade departmental staff of the value of effective programme management
As well as helping to engender a culture change in the use of programme management in the organisation, WCL consultants have managed a high degree of skills transfer to a number of our staff – most notably in programme and change management and in consultancy skills such as facilitation; handling difficult issues effectively with colleagues, and negotiating solutions.
