User-centred design - a useful resource

Updated: Sep 23, 2019

I recently stumbled upon The Delivery Book, a Department for Education resource compiled to help project teams tackle difficult problems, understand their users, and identify first actions for their project. Its packed full of useful workshop exercises that grapple with challenging problems while focusing on user needs.

For example, the section on "Understanding user motivation and experience" focuses on understanding the extent to which users find pleasure or pain at key moments of truth on their user-journey. Armed with this information services are (re-)designed to minimise pain and keep hold of the good stuff.

I have included a link below to download a copy so you can have a look yourself. The author, Andrew Knight, is keen to receive feedback and develop the book further.
